Kaleidoscopic blur with organic painting.

The effect splits the image into multiple mixed copies. The split distance is calculated dynamically by the system based on the brightness of each pixel and can be modulated in many ways. Split blur looks like normal Gaussian blur at low levels of blur, but gradually turns into a unique, split kaleidoscopic image with greater distances.

Overview of available options

Channels - allows you to specify which color channels the effect applies to.

• Brightness: The effect is applied evenly to all channels using the full brightness of the pixel.
• RGB - the effect is applied separately to each RGB component.
• Red, Green, Blue, Alpha: Affects only the selected channel.

Intensity Source:

By default, the split effect is calculated based on the image itself, but you can specify a completely different layer / band as input for abnormal results. If the size of the secondary layer is different, it stretches to fit the primary layer.

Blur level: 

The strength of the blur effect, such as the maximum pixel distance divided by the original pixel.

Partition calculation: 

how many copies you want to divide the image into. The dividers are evenly spaced around the original image.

Rotate Divisions: 

Change the division angle.

The curve determines how the brightness of the pixel is reflected from the blur distance. (more details in the user manual)

The phase of the curve shifts the curve by the specified number of degrees. (more details in the user manual)

The floor curve

determines the minimum separation distance.

displays curves for convenience.

Edge mode - 

if the image shifts due to the effect, the edges are always missing a certain number of pixels, this determines the fill mode.

• Wrap: wraps the image.
• Mirror: Reflects edge pixels.
• Last Repeat: repeats the last pixel of the border.
• Transparent - leaves missing pixels blank.
